For several years South Sudan Orphan Education has been supporting a project to build a school for girls in a small village in South Sudan – the Hope Road project. We’ve raised around $50,000, much of it from a charity walk between Tweed Heads and Sydney back in 2014. We’re about half-way to achieving our goal.
The Bleeding Hearts band will be headlining the first major public event on our calendar for 2016, a night of Rock & Roll at the Marrickville Bowlo on April 30th. So, please come along and enjoy the great live music and easy atmosphere and perhaps learn a bit about the situation in South Sudan at the same time.
A silent auction will be conducted during the course of the evening. Should you choose to, you will be able to bid on a fine painting contributed by an accomplished artist who supports the work of SSOE. Our thanks goes out to the artist, Jude Hotchkiss, and the Bleeding Hearts band for their kind support.
Funds raised on the night go towards the Hope Road project.
