With the Hope Road walkers about to embark on a 40 day 900 kilometre walk from Tweed Heads to Sydney it is time to give them a great send-off.
Very soon Zacharia Machiek, a former South Sudanese refugee, and Janet Dyne will commence their epic 40 day 900 kilometre walk through northern New South Wales to talk about the situation in South Sudan and raise funds to build a Primary School there. It is a fitting time to give them a great send-off.
The Hope Road: Sydney Send-Off will be hosted by the Forest Lodge Hotel. You can meet our walkers and wish them well. There will be a brief update on the progress of planning of the Hope Road walk. A short film by the acclaimed film-maker Tom Zubrycki will be shown.
Pizzas and salad will be served. Music will be provided by Bluesman Michael Dalton from the Lighthouse Keepers.
So join us for a night of enjoyable conversation, Pizzas and Blues music.
